The Help to Buy Scheme has now closed to new applications. Builders may be offering shared equity and other promotions, but these are not backed by the Government, as Help to Buy was.

For first time buyers, the biggest hurdle to buying a house is often the deposit needed. That’s why the government has introduced the Help to Buy scheme, designed to help more people achieve their dream of owning their own property.

Help to Buy allows you to take out an equity loan from the government, of 15% of the property value. That means you need to save a deposit of just 5%, and in total, you’ll only need an 80% mortgage on your home.

There is a wide range of Help to Buy houses available in and around Newcastle and Gateshead. Take a look to find out more about each area.

Central

Love the buzz of the city? We can see why – there’s lots to love about being close to all the amenities of a town centre, including shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Check out the central Help to Buy Gateshead and Newcastle properties.
