The Help to Buy Scheme has now closed to new applications. Builders may be offering shared equity and other promotions, but these are not backed by the Government, as Help to Buy was.
Taking your initial step on the property ladder can seem daunting, especially when it’s a struggle to save a deposit. The good news is the Help to Buy scheme has been established to assist anyone to purchase their first home.
The scheme is a government-backed incentive that can cover up to 20% of the property price, making it easier for your dream home to become a reality.
And, as there is a great variety of Help to Buy properties available in Liverpool, you could secure a house in the vibrant and dynamic city with as little as a 5% deposit.
England offers many different options but the most popular one is the Help to Buy Equity Loan. Through this particular incentive, the government offers the buyer between 10% and 20% of the cost of their chosen home, meaning they only need a minimum 5% cash deposit and a 75% mortgage to make up the rest.
Currently, new build homes valued at £600,000 or less are covered by this incentive. What’s more, you won’t be charged interest on the 20% loan for the first five years of your home ownership.
The Help to Buy scheme has been extended until 2023 for those looking to buy their first property, so there’s never been a better time to check your eligibility.
